VICKREY Complete Street Design - Improving Accessibility, Congestion and Safety

November 2014

From the start, VICKREY has integrated the complete street standards into our design process.  Our transportation and LEED AP certified engineers take into account every type of user and transit when designing our City's roadways.  Complete street projects are designed to provide additional capacity while also creating compact, walkable streets that are safe for automobile, pedestrians, bicyclists, freight carriers, and all users of multi-modal transit services.  Our sustainable designs create vibrant streets with visual interests, shared-use paths, functional business entries, landscaped rest areas, medians, buffers, neighborhood connectivity, and the preservation of our trees and natural resources.

Some of our recent Complete Street projects that provided our community with safe and accessible modes of connectivity include:

  • UTSA Boulevard Expansion from Edward Ximenes to Babcock
  • Hardy Oak Boulevard Extension from Stone Oak Parkway to Knights Cross
  • Callaghan Road Realignment from Ingram to Hemphill Street and from Culebra to Commerce
